The Dallas Cowboys have a great deal of work to do before they are prepared for the 2024 NFL season. Star players Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons all want contract extensions. What is more, they want to be the highest paid players at their respective positions after they sign these new deals.
For months, it has been widely assumed that Prescott’s new deal will make him the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. However, the team may be waiting to see what Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers and Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins get on their upcoming extensions.
Based on the market of quarterbacks this offseason, it has been speculated that Prescott could make up to $60 million per season on his next contract, whether it be with the Cowboys or someone else.
A contract of that size, though, does not leave much room for the other two stars to make what they want.
Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones Revealed How Much CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons Want
Yesterday, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones addressed the media and answered questions regarding their negotiations with their three biggest stars. During his press conference, he revealed that both Lamb and Parsons want to be the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the NFL:
#Cowboys COO Stephen Jones says Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb both want to become the highest paid non-quarterback in football, which would be over $35M per season.
Jones says they have all that going on while also juggling the Dak Prescott situation, which is ongoing.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is currently the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. Earlier this offseason, he signed a four-year $140 million contract that pays him $35 million annually.
If Prescott were to make $60 million, and Lamb and Parsons $35 million each, that would mean the Cowboys would be paying $130 million a year to just three players. That is roughly half of the NFL salary cap.
Obviously, this would not leave much room for the team to sign quality players around them. In order for Dallas to keep all three of their stars, at least one of them is going to have to make some concessions regarding their demands.
Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb Wants His Contract to Make Sense
Yesterday, Cowboys insider Jane Slater shared a video on social media of Lamb working out in Houston, Texas. The All-Pro wide receiver, as fans are well aware, is holding out until he gets a new deal.
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb getting work in Houston today.
CeeDee Lamb on his contract: “it just has to make sense”, according to a source informed.
I’m told he’s 195-196 lbs. bigger faster and more explosive than previous years. I’m told he had a two hour workout and continues to… pic.twitter.com/NFwlXcBFKT

As Slater notes, Lamb has gotten bigger and faster over the course of the offseason. She also revealed that he stated his contract “has to make sense” before he signs it.
That does not give much clarity, but given that Jones previously revealed that Lamb is seeking $35 million a year, it can be assumed that he wants to be one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL.
Knowing that, it is highly unlikely that he will agree to anything less than $30 million a year, and likely would want something in the $32-34 million range if he cannot get the same deal as Jefferson.

It doesn’t say much for Lamb if I said Prescott and Lamb are 1 deal. I’m sure CEEDEE can perform and adapt to any QB. THOUGH…….I do believe they indeed have a chemistry you will not find with another duo. Where does that leave Parsons???? I thought my job was hard. This is going to be a tough call.
