In Sunday’s afternoon NFC West matchup, quarterback Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks took on the Los Angeles Rams. In the Rams’ 30-13 victory over Seattle, a hilarious moment occurred on a third and four late in the second quarter, when Rams’ star pass rusher Aaron Donald went unblocked and ran towards the Seattle quarterback. In the clip, you can hear Smith yelling, “Oh my God!” as Donald gained a heavy pursuit of the Seahawks’ QB. Here is the video per Adam Schefter.

Geno Smith and Seattle Struggle
It was that kind of day for Geno Smith and the Seahawks offense, which allowed seven quarterback hits and two sacks. Smith went 16-26 on his passing attempts while throwing for 112 yards and a touchdown in the week one loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Seattle could not seem to get anything going later on in the game, going the entire second half without scoring one point, after leading going into halftime 13-7.
As far as their defense goes, the front seven need to work on stopping the run, allowing 92 yards and three touchdowns in the rushing category. The secondary, while it did not allow any touchdowns, certainly gave up a decent amount of yards through the air to the Rams. Los Angeles receivers Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua combined for 238 yards, each amounting to 119 yards individually. Seattle will need to collect themselves quickly, as they play the Detroit Lions in week two, which will be a long game for them if they cannot turn things around.
Rams are Victorious
On the Rams’ side, the defense showed up big time and slowed down the hyped-up Seattle offense, allowing the Seahawks to only possess the ball for 20 minutes and 37 seconds, as opposed to the Rams’ 39 minutes and 23 seconds. The Rams’ offense was able to capitalize off of this by going for 426 total yards, 78 plays, and 27 first downs.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford contributed 334 passing yards of his own, even though he did not need to because of the rushing attack Los Angeles presented. Running backs Kyren Williams and Cam Akers scored all of the Rams’ touchdowns (3), leading their team to a sweet divisional victory in week one. Los Angeles looks like they can be good again, but they will have a tough test ahead of them in week two, where they will head back home to face another divisional rival, the San Francisco 49ers.
