Former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo has had a roller coaster of a coaching career. While he was made a few stops since leaving the Giants, he has not quite found a place to call home. Now, he is getting another opportunity to do just that.
New England Patriots Hire Ben McAdoo
According to Mike Garafalo of the NFL Network, the New England Patriots are going to hire Ben McAdoo as an offensive assistant coach. This comes after McAdoo served as the Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator in 2022. Now, McAdoo will work under Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo.
Ben McAdoo With New York Giants
Giants fans know McAdoo all too well. He served as their head coach for less than two seasons from 2016-17. Believe it or not, McAdoo did lead the Giants to a brief playoff appearance at the end of the 2016 season.
However, all of that progress fell apart in the 2017 season. Plus, despite Ben McAdoo strongly campaigning to draft QB Patrick Mahomes, the Giants’ front office did not listen to him. These events led to his demise.
McAdoo was the quarterbacks coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 and the Panthers OC in 2022. Perhaps the third time will be the charm for McAdoo.
