The Florida State Seminoles have lost a lot of talent to the transfer portal and the NFL Draft. This happens with many top teams, especially in this era of college football. However, the Seminoles have done a good job at replenishing talent through the portal and got another win on Tuesday. Former West Virginia defensive end Tomiwa Durojaiye announced he is committing to the program.

Florida State Lands DL Tomiwa Durojaiye
Durojaiye appeared in all 13 games for West Virginia in 2023. The young player had 23 tackles, six tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. He comes to the program with three years of eligibility remaining and has a chance to be one of the dominant forces in college football. He has this to say in a statement about his decision.
“Their track record of transfer guys having success and the opportunity to win a national championship. The development from Coach Papuchis and Coach Haggins. I believe they’ll turn me into a high-level NFL player. Coach Norvell and coach Fuller showed genuine interest and believe I can make a big impact for the Noles this season. And lastly, coach Storm is one of if not the best S&C in the country. FSU felt like the best school that could help me reach my goals on and off the field.”
Top Ten Transfer Portal Class
According to On3, the Seminoles currently have a top-ten transfer portal class. Despite losing a whopping 19 players to the portal, the players they have gotten back have been high quality. The program is hoping that they can build off of this season and in 2024, there will be extra motivation to perform well. They are keen to show the nation that they belong among the top teams. If they keep collecting this type of talent, they should have no trouble dominating the ACC.
This is a huge get for Florida State. Not only do they get a good player but they get him for potentially three years. If he can continue to improve, he could become one of the premier defensive talents in the country.
