Despite an undefeated regular season and an ACC Championship win on Saturday, the Florida State football program will not participate in this year’s rendition of the College Football Playoff. In a shocking move to most, the College Football Playoff committee leapfrogged the one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide over Florida State for the final spot in the four-team field. Not only have Florida State football fans taken to social media in droves, but star quarterback Jordan Travis also has words for those who snubbed the Seminoles on Selection Sunday.
devastated. heartbroken. In so much disbelief rn, I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback. I thought results matter. 13-0 and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings. I am so sorry. Go Noles!

Florida State Football QB Jordan Travis: ‘Devastated. Heartbroken. In so much Disbelief.’
“I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback,” said FSU quarterback Jordan Travis on Sunday via Twitter (also known as X).
Travis suffered a gruesome leg injury in his team’s Week 12 win over the North Alabama Lions, effectively ending his season. The six-foot-one signal-caller played like a Heisman Trophy candidate for most of the season, passing for 2,755 yards and 20 touchdowns against two picks. He also completed 64% of his passes and rushed for seven scores.
The Seminoles turned to longtime backup Tate Rodemaker in the regular season finale against Florida, where he went 12-of-25 for 134 yards and no scores or picks. However, Rodemaker suffered a concussion in the win, leaving true freshman Brock Glenn to start in the ACC Championship against the Lousiville Cardinals. He struggled, going 8-of-21 for 55 yards, but the Seminoles pulled off the 16-6 win. The top-ranked Florida State defense went bonkers, holding Louisville to only 188 yards while tallying seven sacks.
Travis continued, saying, “I thought results matter. 13-0, and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings.” The Florid State football program is the first Power 5 team to go undefeated and win their conference title without having a chance to compete for the National Championship in the College Football Playoff era.
College Football Playoff Committee Goes Alabama over Florida State
The College Football Playoff committee chose the Alabama Crimson Tide over the unbeaten Florida State Seminoles. Alabama took down then-top-ranked Georgia in the SEC Championship on Sunday, 27-24. However, the Crimson Tide lost to the Texas Longhorns at home earlier in the season. They also nearly fell to the Auburn Tigers in their regular-season finale but converted on a fourth-and-goal from the Auburn 31-yard-line with 43 seconds remaining in regulation to win 27-24.
Meanwhile, FSU went the entirety of the season without a loss. Even without quarterback Jordan Travis, the Seminoles house plenty of offensive talent, including the star wide receiver duo of six-foot-seven Johnny Wilson and six-foot-four Keon Coleman. Additionally, they scored an ACC-best 37 points per game.
