Leadership hasn’t seemed like an issue for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles but he certainly hasn’t won any points helping his team overcome the teams recent slide. After being the best team in the NFL by far, Hurts and Philadelphia have struggled dramatically against three of the best teams in the NFL. They lost two blistering games in a row to the dominant 49ers and Cowboys but now they’ve lost a truly devastating loss to an iffy team without their starting quarterback.
Eagles Jalen Hurts Attacks his Teammates Effort in Loss
After the brutal loss to a Seattle team that was starting their backup quarterback, Hurts ripped into his team in the post game press conference.
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts mentions he doesn’t think the team is ‘committed enough’ right now.
When asked what he means: “Commitment. I don’t have a dictionary on me now.”

I’ve been talking about execution all year and being on the same page.” Hurts said. “We didn’t execute. I don’t think we’re committed enough and we’ve just got to turn it around. It’s a challenge that we have to embrace and just continue to see it through”.
When asked by a reporter to expand on his comments, Hurts went after his teammates for not putting in the effort.
“Commitment. I don’t have a dictionary on me now and I don’t know how else to say it.”
While he attacked his teammates for the loss, Hurts put up poultry numbers of 17 for 31 with 143 passing yards, no touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. Philadelphia is clearly demonstrating that they’re frustrated with the way their season is going and it just keeps unraveling from the product on the field.
This is a completely unrecognizable team compared to the one we saw earlier in the season and a lot of that is on Hurts. The star quarterback has struggled with his numbers and he isn’t going to win the hearts and minds of his teammates by putting them on blast after a tough loss. Philadelphia will look to get back on track before the playoffs but their star players need to behave like star players.
Philadelphia has three easy games to end the season but looks at this point to enter the post season as the fifth overall seed/first wild card. The team will most likely start the postseason with a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January while the expectation of first overall seed with a bye has completely unraveled in Philadelphia.
