The Cleveland Browns signed a former Indianapolis Colts running back to the practice squad Tuesday. The Browns are figuring out depth at running back after losing Nick Chubb for the season.
The Browns signed veteran running back Kareem Hunt last week. Following Chubb’s diagnosis, the Browns were named as a potential trade partner with the Colts for disgruntled star Jonathan Taylor. The Browns picked up a different former Colts running back Tuesday.

According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Browns signed Deon Jackson to the practice squad Tuesday. He’ll join tight end Devin Asiasi as the Browns’ newcomers on the practice squad in Week 4.

Jackson had been with the Colts since Indianapolis signed him as a UDFA following the 2021 NFL Draft until Week 3 of this season. Jackson has two touchdowns and 281 yards on 94 rushing attempts in his NFL career. Jackson started for the Colts in Week 1 due to numerous injuries at running back.
