The Denver Broncos were hopeful that running back Javonte Williams would be ready for the start of the 2023 season. While ACL injuries have become slightly easier to bounce back from, it still is a very serious injury, especially for running backs. Williams provided a positive update on his recovery this weekend.

“I feel like I’m ready to go,” Williams said, via ESPN, when asked if he would be medically cleared for the start of camp. It seems like by the start of training camp, Williams will be fully recovered. The Broncos are hoping that he can put up stats similar to his rookie season when he had over 1,200 scrimmage yards. Ultimately, it still comes down to the team. “It’s just all about the evaluation, how the Broncos feel about it,” Williams said. “Just seeing how I feel, moving, just trying to get my speed back to normal, things like that.”

    Expectations For 2023

Anything is better than last year. 2022 was a nightmare on so many levels but new head coach Sean Payton brings pedigree to the team. It also stands to reason that the Broncos will be less injured this year as many of their starters had season-ending injuries. The issue is the conference and division they are in. They have to play the Chiefs and Chargers twice and then also beat out the Ravens, Jets, Bills, Dolphins, Jaguars, Bengals, and a slew of other teams for a playoff spot. Ultimately, as long as this team shows improvement, it’s a plus.

The Denver Broncos would love it if Javonte Williams could be 100% by week 1. The free agent signings they made this offseason signal a greater focus on the running game so Williams could be primed for a huge season.
