Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders sent the college football world a strong statement on how he feels about stealing hand signals. Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh has been accused of stealing signs, most notably to gain an advantage over Ohio State.
The alleged scandal is rocking a Michigan team that is currently undefeated. Rumors are floating that the NCAA could punish the Michigan program and Harbaugh’s time with the Wolverines program could be over shortly.

Deion Sanders comments on Michigan’s sign-stealing allegations
Reporters recently asked Sanders what he thought of the allegations against the Michigan program. Per a video posted on Barstool Sports, Sanders made it clear that he doesn’t think sign stealing is an excuse to get beat. (Sorry, Ohio State fans, but Ryan Day doesn’t come out of this looking like a white knight.)
“Everyone’s trying to get an edge; everyone’s trying to get whatever edge they can,” Sanders said. “You could have someone’s whole game plan, they could mail it to you, you still got to stop it. You still got to stop it.
In football, it’s not as pronounced as baseball. If I know a curveball is coming, I got you. With football, I don’t give a dern if you know a sweep is coming. You still got to stop it. Physically, it’s a physical game. You’ve got to stop it. So that’s a little tough. I don’t buy into a lot of stuff that someone is stealing this, stealing that. I don’t buy into a lot of that stuff, you still got to play the game.”

Sanders referenced his time with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. Opposing defenses knew where the ball was going to a lot on those offenses, but teams still couldn’t stop Michael Irvin or Emmitt Smith.
