Deion Sanders is on a recruiting tear for the Colorado Buffaloes. Whether it is on the recruiting trail or in the transfer portal, Sanders has been landing player after player. The offensive line has been completely overhauled and now Coach Prime is getting some weapons for his offense. Former Vanderbilt wide receiver Will Sheppard announced he is committing to Colorado in 2024.

Deion Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes Land WR Will Sheppard
Sheppard has been a very productive receiver at Vanderbilt. In his career, he has 2,067 yards and 21 touchdowns. Last year he finished Top 5 in the SEC in both touchdowns and yards. Sheppard immediately becomes a number one option for quarterback Shedeur Sanders who will likely enter 2024 as a Heisman candidate. This is a huge win for Sanders as Sheppard was one of the top wide receivers in the portal.
2024 Outlook
Colorado is joining the Big 12 at a good time. Oklahoma and Texas are gone leaving a void at the top of the conference. Sanders is making a case that his team could take the crown. Obviously, there is a lot that can happen before the season kicks off next fall. However, the fact that Sanders is continuing to acquire talent despite the 4-8 season is promising. Sanders will have to show that he can coach this talent to victories on the field.
I doubt that Sanders is done. As more and more players commit, Sanders’ recruiting pitch becomes stronger. It has been a fun offseason for Colorado so far and we shall see if the success continues.
