Deion Sanders has been one of the most polarizing figures in college football in 2023. The Colorado program went from being a bottom-feeder program to must-see television overnight. However, the season ended in disappointment with the team only managing a 4-8 record. In an appearance on Thursday Night Football, Sanders called the 2024 season a “season of expectation.”

Deion Sanders: 2024 Season A “Season Of Expectation”
2023 was a “season of hope.” There were very few expectations coming in with many analysts did not think that Colorado would win many games. The team started out 3-0 before going on a losing streak. However, in some of the losses, the team was in the game but just couldn’t come out on top. 2023 did provide hope for the Colorado fan base but Sanders is right about expectations. Next season, the team is expected to improve which could prove difficult.
Tough To Replenish Talent
Recruits have been decommitting from the program this week. Players are entering the transfer portal. According to 247, they have the No. 65 ranked recruiting class in the nation. However, the transfer portal makes this tricky. No doubt Sanders and his staff are recruiting players out of the portal. While playing for Coach Prime isn’t for everyone, there are many people that would jump at the chance to learn under the college football legend.
Deion Sanders has some work to do and expectations will be higher next season. Colorado moves to the Big 12 and will have a whole new set of opponents. If they have another disappointing season, the criticism will continue to come.
