Dawson Knox May Be My Favorite Tight End in 2022 Fantasy Football

The tight end position can be frustrating to evaluate as the fantasy season begins to approach us. If you don’t spend an early draft selection on Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews, you may feel out of luck. Luckily heading into the 2022 season there are plenty of later round options that present high value and upside. Let’s look at one of my favorite players at the position at this point in the offseason, Dawson Knox of the Buffalo Bills.

How did Knox perform last season?

Knox had a fantastic season in one the best offenses in the league. He showed beautiful chemistry with star quarterback Josh Allen. Even with missing two games Knox still came in at tight end eight on average in full PPR formats. Through the first five games of the season he had four double digit performances showing his dominance in the end zone with five touchdowns through that stretch. Overall, Knox had 49 receptions for 587 receiving yards and 9 total touchdowns.

What can we expect out of Knox in 2022?

Knox heads into the 2022 fantasy football season with essentially the same exact value he presented last year. For whatever reason he is being heavily slept on as the 2022 season approaches us. Many believe the Bills will bolster the best offense in the entire league, and Knox is set to continue his connection with Josh Allen next year. With the departure of wide receivers Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders from the Bills, Knox will be leaned on more than ever. His red-zone targets should stay consistent and his value on this team is undeniable.

    In Conclusion:

Knox was one of the biggest factors on the Bills high flying offense last year. With the Bills poised to make another run deep into the playoff picture, there’s no denying he will play a huge role within this offense. Finishing in the top eight at the tight end position he is undoubtedly being ranked too low on fantasy rankings at this point in the off-season. Knox has an average draft projection of 90.8. This draft projection makes him beyond affordable in fantasy drafts.

Knox was tied with Mark Andrews and Hunter Henry for the second most touchdowns at the position last season. Gear up for another dominant season by Knox in the red-zone and all over the field in 2022.
