Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams has been very vocal throughout the 2023 season about installing a winning culture in the team. He likely played a big role in former head coach Josh McDaniels getting fired after players revealed he was not good for the locker room. Now, the star wideout is attempting to recruit an NFC North quarterback to come play for the Raiders, as this quarterback will be hitting the free market this offseason.

    Davante Adams Recruiting Kirk Cousins

Adams was asked which quarterbacks he would like to catch passes from, to which he brought up Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. Cousins is set to hit free agency this offseason, and if the Vikings cannot convince him to stay with the team, Las Vegas could now be on the table for the veteran to sign with.

Could Davante Adams be trying to recruit Kirk Cousins to the #Raiders? 🤔🤔🤔

Here is what Adams had to say about Cousins:

If we’re talking about a dude that can just find somebody, I mean, I like Kirk Cousins. I think Kirk Cousins is a really good quarterback. As far as availability, I think Kirk’s a good player.

Las Vegas Raiders Fans Want Cousins

Raiders fans have also taken an interest in the team signing Cousins this offseason, even well before Adams made these comments. The team’s current quarterback, Aidan O’Connell was the starter for the second half of the season after Jimmy Garoppolo was benched. O’Connell was inconsistent but showed some promise as the regular season came to an end. It is also important to note that this was the young quarterback’s first year in the NFL, so he could have some potential.

Is Cousins’ Career Coming To An End?

Miami Dolphins Kirk Cousins <a rel=

Even with a promising rookie quarterback currently under center, fans in Las Vegas seem to think that Cousins is the best option for the team going forward. The 35-year-old is beginning to enter the final seasons of his career, especially after suffering a gruesome Achilles injury in 2023, which caused him to miss the rest of the season. Before the injury, Cousins was on track to have the best statistical year of his career, leading in passing yards for the first few weeks of the season leading up to the injury. However, some seem to think that the aging quarterback may never be the same again coming off of the torn Achilles.

Even with all the hype with Cousins potentially signing in Las Vegas, it seems unlikely it will happen as he has now made it clear that he wants to remain in Minnesota. However, Cousins and the Vikings have still not come to a contract agreement, and other teams like the Raiders could still make great offers that the quarterback may be interested in. Do you think that Cousins should stay in Minnesota, or do you think that he will be with a new team next season, possibly in Las Vegas?
