The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the most talked about teams in the NFL this offseason. Of course, much of this talk has centered around the lack of contract extensions for their star players: quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and linebacker Micah Parsons. Head coach Mike McCarthy is also entering the year without a contract extension, which has led to much discussion about the probability of 2024 being his final season in Dallas.
In other words, much of the discussion surrounding the team has had little to do with the actually playing of the game. Instead, it has focused on the business side of the NFL. However, Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis recently found himself in a random beef with an All-Pro wide receiver that may help turn the focus of some discussions to football.
Detroit Lions All-Pro Wide Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown Called Out Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Jourdan Lewis
Detroit Lions All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was a guest on the most recent episode of The Pivot Podcast. During his interview, he was asked who his least favorite defensive back was in the NFL. He named a few, but specifically called out Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis for all of the trash-talking he does:
“He was talking crazy out of pocket,” the All-Pro wide receiver said. “Even [Lions wideout Jameson Williams] heard it too. He was coming in. At that point it’s like, I don’t know what he’s saying. I’m trying to make plays, win the game. I’m not worried about him. But once he starts talking like that it’s like alright, if I do get a chance to kill him, I’ma kill him.”
The Cowboys faced the Lions in Week 17 last year, winning the game 20-19. St. Brown had six receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Lewis had six tackles, two passes defended, and an interception.
Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Jourdan Lewis Claps Back at Amon-Ra St. Brown
Lewis, a native of Detroit, did not take too kindly to St. Brown’s statements. He posted the following message on his Instagram: “I am passionate about my craft and I don’t want to be friends with everyone, especially a Detroit Lion not from Detroit.”
#Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown joined the fellas over at @thepivot & talked about #Cowboys DB Jourdan Lewis & his trash talking.
Lewis caught wind & the Detroit native addressed it on IG by saying “It’s only for ya’ll fr. 😊,” before adding another IG story further elaborating. pic.twitter.com/bSQblGGHgg

St. Brown, by the way, is from Anaheim Hills, California.
The Cowboys and Lions play each other again in Week Six this season, on October 13 in Dallas.
This little exchange will surely add some extra juice to the matchup.
