“Super Weak”: Jourdan Lewis Blasts Josh Jacobs’s Comments On Packers Offseason Priorities

Jourdan Lewis, cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys recently responded to Josh Jacobs, Green Packers running back’s comments about his own teammates. In a recent interview with 97.3 The Game, Jacobs was asked what the team needs to do during the offseason. In response, the 26-year-old running back mentioned that the Packers need to improve their receiving and that they need to bring a talented player to bulwark this area.

The Green Bay Packers finished the 2024 NFL season ranked third in the NFC North with 11 wins and six defeats. The Packers were thrown out of the playoffs after losing to the Chicago Bears in early January with a final score of 24-22. They still had a chance in the NFL Wild Card Round against the Philadelphia Eagles, but lost the game miserably, 22-10. In that game, running back Josh Jacobs contributed 18 carries for 81 yards, scoring once.

“I think we need a wide receiver. A real WR1… I love the guys that we have in the receiver room, they all have the potential to be a ‘one’. But we need a guy that’s a proven one… Obviously, we’ve got a really young group of receivers. All can be really, really, really special, but I think personally we need the guy that’s proven to be a number one already. So, somebody we know is going to be a little bit more consistent.” Josh Jacobs said on 97.3 The Game.

“This is super weak. Nobody cares about the locker room anymore.” Jourdan Lewis responded to Jacobs’ comments through his X account.

Jourdan Lewis was the 92nd pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys, whom he has been playing for ever since. In the 2024 NFL season, Lewis managed 39 solo tackles with a single interception for the team.

Detroit Lions Might Sign Jourdan Lewis Despite Past Tensions With Amon-Ra

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions are showing an interest in Jourdan Lewis to their squad. The Lions finished the 2024 NFL season first in the NFC North with 15 wins and two defeats. However, the Lions were kicked out of the playoffs after losing to the Washington Commanders in the NFL Divisional Round with a final score of 45-31.

While Lewis will definitely add more strength to the Detroit Lions with his immense set of skills, there are a number of factors that Detroit will need to evaluate before they sign the player. This not only includes Lewis’ age but also the fact that he and Detroit wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown engaged in a war of words last year and still seem to have certain lingering tensions.
