On Tuesday, Dak Prescott provided an update on his sprained foot injury. He didn’t rule out the possibility that the injury could linger until at least the start of Dallas Cowboys training camp on July 25. He also said “nothing” is wrong with his right foo that recently had a walking boot on it.

Dak Prescott suffered a sprained foot

As previously discussed on GH, reports surfaced last Thursday that Prescott suffered a sprained foot after photos appeared online of him wearing a walking boot:
On Independence Day, photos appeared online of Prescott wearing a walking boot on his right foot, the same side that caused him to miss Week 6 through the rest of the 2020 season due to a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle. The sprained foot is reported to be a minor injury and is not expected to keep Prescott from being a full participant when training camp starts
Sports bettors are worried about the Dallas Cowboys

Word of Prescott’s injury caused sports bettors to tank the regular season total win number for the Cowboys because sports bettors thought there was a chance it could further derail Dallas’ season. The Cooper win total for the season has stayed at 9.9 wins ever since it was reported Prescott’s injury was only minor because sharp bettors are down the Cowboys this season, regardless of Prescott’s status.
Prescott doesn’t ‘anticipate’ having trouble at training camp

Todd Archer with ESPN provided another update on Prescott Tuesday morning. Prescott said he wanted to be cautious about his ankle after he developed soreness:
Dak Prescott said the reason why he was on a walking boot was after some soreness developed in his surgically repaired right ankle following two hard workouts. He was just being cautious as he was going on a vacation but does not anticipate it being an issue when camp begins.
Prescott said he doesn’t anticipate the injury lingering until training camp, but he didn’t rule out that possibility entirely. The ankle was sore for a reason, and we might learn more about that reason when Prescott puts more pressure on it during training camp.
Per a video posted on X by Jon Machota of The Athletic, Prescott said Tuesday morning at his youth camp in Southlake that “absolutely nothing” is wrong with the ankle that was previously sore from a hard workout.
“I’m great. Honestly, I’m getting older. It’s the same ankle that I snapped and had surgery on four years ago,” Prescott said. “So a couple of hard days of training, and you get a little sore, and then you go on a fishing trip, and you want to protect it and make sure things don’t get worse.
“Literally, it’s absolutely nothing. People are reaching, trying to make things that they aren’t. I’m getting older and having to take care of my body and be smart. If I have to take precautions and lessen something by putting on a boot, I’ll do it. Sorry that it caused such a whirlwind.”

Prescott plans to work with Cowboys receivers before training camp. He especially wants to work out with receiver CeeDee Lamb. Both Prescott and Lamb are negotiating for new contracts. Per Archer, Prescott said his agent, Todd France, has had conversations with the Cowboys’ front office recently, but Prescott is leaving those talks up to France.
