Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is making headlines once again after being quiet for the last half of the 2023 season. He was a big topic at the beginning of the year when he wrote a letter to the New York Jets to join their team after quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Now, Fox News has made Kaepernick relevant in the NFL world once again, and fans are already angry at what it’s about.

A report done by Fox News linked the former quarterback to the New England Patriots after the team decided to hire Jerod Mayo as their head coach. Mayo was asked about racism in a recent press conference, to which he gave what fans are calling a “woke answer.” This has led to Kaepernick suddenly being linked to the team after Fox said that the Patriots are bringing a “woke agenda” to the organization. Many NFL fans think that there is a good chance that New England could bring in Kaepernick next season, and they wasted no time poking fun at the former quarterback and new head coach.

So, the new Patriots head coach is talking about bringing in Colin Kaepernick as their new QB.
Please God, let this happen so he can, once again, show that he sucks and we can move on once & for all.#KaepernickSucks

Fans had mixed reactions to the report, with some bashing Kaepernick and Mayo for bringing politics into the NFL, while others are behind both of them and giving their support. Rumors are going around that the Patriots are going to bring in the former quarterback to try out for the team, and some fans think that he would be a better option than either Bailey Zappe or Mac Jones.

Kaepernick has been in a ton of rumors throughout the season of possibly being an option for teams that had their starting quarterback miss the season with serious injuries, including the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and the Minnesota Vikings. The Patriots now seem like Kaepernick’s best shot at a return to the league as they seem to be going through a rebuild at the quarterback position.

Will Kaepernick Try Out For New England?

While the report has gained a lot of attention, nothing has been set in stone, and these are all just rumors for now. However, it is an intriguing thought that Kaepernick could now possibly have an opening in the league. Do you think New England will give the former quarterback another chance at redemption, or will he remain trying to find his way back in a different way?
