Cleveland Browns fans are waiting with bated breath on what is going to be the final result of the Nich Chubb situation.
The hesitation surrounding the future of the talented running back is well-documented as the Browns are unsure whether he’ll still have his explosiveness when he comes back. While it may seem unfair to the star acquisition of their 2018 draft class, the Browns’ stance on the issue is understandable.
As the team is looking for running backs who could possibly take over if Chubb isn’t the man moving forward, they’re linked to a talented running back from one of the NFC’s bigger teams.
Cleveland Browns rumored to sign Dallas Cowboys RB Tony Pollard in free agency
Heavy’s JR DeGroote reported that the Browns are interested in bringing over Dallas Cowboys RB Tony Pollard as he is not going to be signing a new contract with the Cowboys.
The Rico Report discussed the possibility of Pollard making the jump from Arlnigton to Cleveland:
“What about the Browns? Could the Cleveland Browns be asking for the services of Tony Pollard?” Rico said in a video hosted by Bleacher Report. “Pair [Pollard] with Stefanski, Deshaun Watson, Coop (Amari Cooper). You have a dual threat. I think this could work. You get Pollard over there. He might have to talk about what compensation he’s looking for. Tony Pollard at $6.5 million, is nothing outrageous. I’m sure they could work something out. This could be a potential marriage.”
Pollard has been nothing short of incredible for the Dallas Cowboys when ever since he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 Draft. Over the past two seasons, he had multiple 1000-yard seasons and at least six touchdowns a game.
If the Browns do decide to bring Pollard over, he can provide a dynamic 1-2 punch with Chubb if he ever maanges to return to his pre-injury form. It also allows them to move on from the man if they don’t think he’s regained the explosive athleticism that made him a favorite in the Dawg Pound.
