The Cleveland Browns have had some devastating injuries to key players this season, including running back Nick Chubb and quarterback Deshaun Watson both going out with season-ending injuries. Even with these injuries, the team has still been able to perform at a high level and compete with the best teams in the league. However, Cleveland has now lost another offensive star that can have an impact on the team moving forward.
This really sucks: #Browns star rookie OL Dawand Jones needs season ending knee surgery, per HC Kevin Stefanski.

Dawand Jones
The Browns have lost their star rookie offensive tackle Dawand Jones after he suffered a significant knee injury and will require season-ending surgery. Jones has been playing at an elite level this season and was looking like one of the biggest steals from the 2023 NFL draft. The offensive tackle has given up just three sacks this season and has exceeded expectations in a big way.
With the injury to Jones, James Hudson, who has not played well this year, will take his place. Some shifts may come to the team’s offensive line due to the injury to Jones, and it is rumored that head coach Kevin Stefanski will move left tackle Geron Christian to the right side.
Cleveland Browns Injury Bug
The key injuries for Cleveland continue to pile up, which could eventually come back to haunt them as the regular season begins to wind down. Luckily for the team, their remaining strength of schedule is one of the easiest in the NFL. They will finish off the last few weeks against the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, New York Jets, and Cincinnati Bengals.
The Browns are now sitting at an 8-5 record and in second place in the highly competitive AFC North. As of now, Cleveland currently holds the top wild-card spot in the AFC Conference, but they will have to likely win most of their remaining games if they want to stay in the playoff picture. The AFC playoff race is a tight one, which will make for a photo finish by the season’s end.
