The San Francisco 49ers have had a long and very public disagreement with their All-Pro wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. As their talks seem to have stalled, it appears more and more likely that he will be traded, and the Cleveland Browns were recently named as one of the most likely destinations for the disgruntled wide receiver. What is more, they are also rumored to be willing to pay him what he wants: a contract worth $30+ million a year.
Of course, the Browns are not the only team that has been linked to Aiyuk. Earlier in the offseason, the wide receiver himself said he could see himself playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Washington Commanders in 2024. The New England Patriots have also recently been named as a potential trade suitor.
As for how Browns players may feel about potentially adding Aiyuk, well, recently acquired Jerry Jeudy has some thoughts on the matter.
Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver Jerry Jeudy Would Love to Have Brandon Aiyuk on the Team
The Browns first acquired Jeudy from the Denver Broncos for a fifth and a sixth-round pick. While he is enjoying his new team and teammates, he sees nothing wrong with bringing in one of the best players at his position in the NFL.
Today, Jeudy told reporters, “Aiyuk is a great player. Bring him to the team, we gonna make the team better and help us win more games. That’s the goal to win more games.”

Of course, the Browns already have one of the most feared defenses in the NFL. Adding a wide receiver of Aiyuk’s caliber on offense could go a long way to helping the offense become just as feared, but it would come at a high price.
Acquiring Brandon Aiyuk May Cost the Cleveland Browns Amari Cooper and More
Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot as long been an advocate of the Browns trying to trade for Aiyuk. She recently stated that doing so, though, could cost Cleveland another one of their most talented players:
“If the Browns hope to land him, they’d have to make the 49ers an offer they couldn’t refuse, which might have to include Amari Cooper or possibly the Browns’ first-round pick in 2025.”
If the Browns have to give up Cooper for Aiyuk, it will certainly be considered an upgrade. Aiyuk is younger and was more productive last season.
The question is whether or not San Francisco would view Cooper as enough of a return.
