Get ready, Cleveland Browns fans, because on August 3rd, the Cleveland Browns stadium will host the WWE Summer Slam. Logan Paul, a Cleveland, Ohio native, announced on Tuesday that his hometown will be hosting the event.
Cleveland Has Been Hosting Many Great Sporting Events
The city of Cleveland has hosted many big-time events over the past few years, including the MLB All-Star Game in 2019, the NFL Draft in 2021, and the 2022 NBA All-Star Game. This April, Cleveland will host the NCAA women’s basketball Final Four.
Cleveland has been on the rise of hosting big-time sporting events, and adding the WWE Summer Slam is another massive win for the city. Cleveland Browns have never had a dome stadium, so they miss out on huge events like the Super Bowl and NCAA Men’s Final Four, but that could all change in the next few years.
Cleveland Browns Could Be Building A New Home
Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam bought over 176 acres of land in Brookpark, a few miles away from Cleveland. A new Browns stadium could possibly be built in the next few years.
The Browns’ lease on their current stadium doesn’t end until 2028, so there is a good chance they could have a new home by the 2029 season.
If the Browns were to build a dome, they could host events like the NCAA Men’s Final Four, College Football National Championship, and maybe even the Super Bowl.
Cleveland is the best sports city in the United States. As you can tell, all the Major sports leagues and college teams have trusted Cleveland to host big-time sporting events. So, if Cleveland were to get a dome stadium, there would be so many events coming to Cleveland that you would never have thought was possible.
