The Cincinnati Bengals pulled off a remarkable comeback against the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, they got a crucial win to improve their record to 8-6 with three games left in the regular season.
A lot of the credit for this win should go to QB Jake Browning. However, the NFL spoiled the party for the Cincinnati Bengals. Immediately after the win, the NFL requested Browning to take a drug test.
Jake Browning’s Performance
At first, it looked like the Bengals were going to fall short against the Vikings. Cincinnati trailed Minnesota 17-3 heading into the fourth quarter. However, the fourth quarter is when Browning shined.
The Bengals scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime against the Vikings. Browning had two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to WR Tee Higgins for 13 yards and 21 yards respectively. On top of this, he led a game-winning drive in overtime. Browning had 324 total passing yards in the game.
Because of this, the timing seems suspicious by the NFL. According to Dov Kleiman, Browning received a text message immediately after the game, requesting him to take a drug test for steroids tomorrow morning.
Cincinnati Bengals Impact
The Bengals are already missing several key players on their offense. Starting QB Joe Burrow is on the injured reserve list due to a wrist injury. On top of this, star WR Ja’Marr Chase suffered a shoulder injury in today’s game against the Vikings. Now, the Bengals will have to wait and see how that injury and this drug test unfolds. They play the Pittsburgh Steelers next Saturday.
