While no one can argue that the Kansas City chiefs are an elite team, they certainly have garnered quite a bit of loathing. Part of it is the classic desire of fans to hate to team at the top of the mountain as Kansas City has been to four of the past five Super Bowls and has won two of them. However, another part of it is that the team brings back vibes of the 2000s and 2010s Patriots where some suspect officiating and commentary makes everyone believe that the NFL wants Kansas City to succeed.
Mahomes is him. We all know that.
I just feel like the Chiefs get the better side of officiating more often than not when it really matters. It’s blatant at this point.
To me – they don’t need it. They’re that good. So get the calls right and let’s see it play out the right…

Officiating Under Review Once Again in Chiefs vs Ravens AFC Championship Game
Well, to put it bluntly, the zebras were at it again down the stretch in the huge game between Kansas City and Baltimore. With 6:59 left in the game, elite Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a likely touchdown pass to the back left corner of the end zone that would’ve made it a three point game with plenty of time left but receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was thrown to the ground my the Kansas City defender. Like many other big wins collected by Kansas City over the past few seasons, there was no flag on the play.
Fast forward to the next play where Jackson attempted to find tight end Isaiah Likely in the center of the end zone, the backup tight end was checked to the ground well before the ball arrived and the ball was intercepted by safety Deon Bush. The commentators stated correctly that it was a terrible decision on the quarterback to throw the ball into triple coverage but by the rules, there absolutely should’ve been pass interference called on the play. On back to back plays, Kansas City managed to get impactful no-calls from the officiating crew.
On top of that decision, there were some other questionable flags thrown against Baltimore. On arguably the most important drive of the game, wide receiver Zay Flowers made an excellent play to bring to ball inside the ten yard line. After he was tackled by the safety, Flowers pushed the safety over and spun the ball while looking down at the defender.
While this warranted the taunting flag that it drew, there was certainly far more aggressive trash talk going on in the game that wasn’t called. After the penalty pushed Baltimore back, Flowers made what would of been a touchdown run but fumbled the ball into the end zone for a Kansas City touchback. The play was so questionable that rival quarterback Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals took to twitter to question the decision.
Let the guys taunt.

Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City squad are clearly a dynasty that is going to thrive in the NFL for years to come but he certainly doesn’t need the help of the officials that he is getting.
