The Chicago Bears have had many questions regarding the future of their starting quarterback Justin Fields throughout the season. Fields, despite dealing with injuries, has had one of his best career seasons in 2023. However, a team insider believes that Chicago will look to trade away Fields after this season to bring in a quarterback from the 2024 NFL draft.

Justin Fields Rumors

Chicago is currently in possession of the number one overall pick in next year’s draft, and many think that they should pursue a quarterback. USC quarterback Caleb Williams is the most sought-after prospect in the draft so far, and if Chicago ends up getting the first overall pick, it seems the team believes Williams would be too good of an option to pass up on.
Fields has been in many trade rumors this season, which has caused many fans and analysts to believe that the Bears will move on from him this coming offseason. These rumors heated up during the NFL trade deadline, and experts had Fields being traded to the Atlanta Falcons. However, that did not happen, and it does not seem like the team will look to deal him away during the season.
Justin Fields Career With Chicago Bears

While Fields missed over a month of playtime due to an injury, he was having the most productive individual year of his young career. So far in 2023, the quarterback has gone for 1,587 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and six interceptions. With just a few more weeks to go in the regular season, he is on pace to beat out his numbers from last year, which he threw for 2,242 passing yards and 17 touchdowns.
While this is just insider information, it can become a real possibility pending how Fields performs on the field for the rest of the season. It can also depend on who the head coach for Chicago will be next season as Matt Eberflus‘ job is in serious jeopardy. Do you think that Fields will be traded to another team in the offseason, or will Chicago keep taking a chance on their “franchise quarterback?”
