Chicago Bears Legend Robbie Gould Tries His Hand in Coaching
Former Chicago Bears great Robbie Gould has accepted a head coaching job. Not for an NFL team, but High School instead.
Robbie Gould, who retired from the NFL in December, has accepted a position for the Head Coach at Rolling Meadows High School, this according to the Chicago Sun Times.
Gould lives in the northwest suburbs of the Chicagoland area. Robbie met his wife and raised a family nearby. Robbie also spent some time as an assistant coach on Fremd High School’s Football team in the latter part of the season. It is to no surprise that he continues his legacy here.

Robbie Gould was a legendary Kicker for the Chicago Bears and spent 11 years with the organization. Gould had an 18 year NFL career, a majority for the Chicago Bears, and appeared in 120 games.
“Gould, who retired from the NFL in December, spent 11 seasons in Chicago, which culminated in him becoming the team’s all-time leading scorer. He then had a one-year stint with the New York Giants before settling down with the San Francisco 49ers for the remainder of his career.“ According to NBC Chicago.
Robbie had a career kicking percentage of 86.5%. At one point he was the active leader in percentage within the NFL. He scored a total of 1,961 points during his time in the league.
Robbie Gould was a perfect 29-29 in all eight playoff games he appeared in.
Rolling Meadows High School
Rolling Meadows went a combined 11-17 the past three seasons. Gould was not just hired as a publicity stunt, but to help improve the team.
Special teams coaches have been regarded as prime candidates to take on head coaching jobs at any level. The ability to work with all players from offense and defense is a strength for a special teams player and coach. Hopefully Robbie’s ability to connect players and his knowledge of the game can help to improve Rolling Meadows.
