The Buffalo Bills dominated the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, beating the breaks off the NFC East leaders, 31-10. However, Bills linebacker Tyrel Dodson must write a check to the NFL and Roger Goodell for a hit against Cowboys gunslinger Dak Prescott. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the league has fined Dodson $11,167 for a helmet-to-helmet hit against the Cowboys signal-caller.

Additionally, Buffalo Bills safety Taylor Rapp earned himself a $21,855 fine for a separate play. They are the first Buffalo players to receive a fine since Cam Lewis in Week 14.
Buffalo Bills Defender Handed Fine for Helmet-to-Helmet Hit
The Bills’ Tyrel Dodson will have to pay a $11,167 fine for his hit against Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in Week 15. Prescott took off running in the second quarter, and while giving himself up on a feet-first slide, Dodson launched himself into the runner, making helmet-to-helmet contact with Prescott. Dodson received an unnecessary roughness penalty, resulting in an automatic first down. The Cowboys finished the drive with a 37-yard field goal from kicker Brandon Aubrey. However, the Bills dominated the contest, winning 31-10.
Buffalo Bills LB Tyrel Dodson: Amid Career Year
Dodson, an undrafted free agent from Texas A&M, has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Buffalo Bills. Dodson appeared in ten games as a rookie during the 2020 season, registering 22 tackles and two TFLs. He took a step back regarding production in 2021, tallying 15 tackles despite playing in 16 games. However, he became a fringe starter the following season, with 32 tackles for the Bills in 2022.
Dodson is amid a career year in 2023, already earning the start at linebacker seven times this season, more than double his previous career high. He has rewarded the Bills with 63 tackles, six TFLs, and 1.5 sacks. The six-foot, 237-pound second-level defender starts alongside Dane Jackson and Terrel Bernard at linebacker.
