The Buffalo Bills had one of the best offensive lines in the league and had the same five starters every game. They allowed the 7th-most hurries, the 13th-most hits, the 12th-fewest pressures, the 11th-fewest pressure percentage, and the fewest sacks.
Buffalo overhauled their offensive line by trading one and releasing the other. They also re-signed their backup guard to an extension.
The Buffalo Bills re-signed their backup guard
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, Buffalo re-signed David Edwards.
“#Bills reach two-year, $6 million extension with David Edwards that includes $2.95 million guaranteed with $1.75 million signing bonus, salaries $1.2 million (guaranteed), $2.56 million annual $10,000 per game active roster bonus, up to $1.2M playtime incentive annual, $1.2M 2025 playtime base escalator @KPRC2.”
Edwards signed a contract with Buffalo in 2023
Buffalo signed Edwards to a 1-year, $1.77 million contract last offseason.
Edwards appeared in every game and didn’t make any starts in 2023, and had one penalty, zero sacks allowed, and an 82.7 PFF Grade in 148 offensive snaps.
Why does this move matter?
This move matters because Buffalo overhauled their offensive line this offseason by trading Ryan Bates to Chicago and releasing starting center Mitch Morse. Connor McGovern will likely move to center, and Edwards will likely be the starting left guard next season.
