The NFL kicked off their twelfth annual Top 100 list. This list is voted on by the players which recognizes the play of the NFL’s best. Well, the list welcomed a newcomer, with defensive end of the Carolina Panthers Brian Burns.
Burns was voted Number 76 by his peers, after having a nine-sack season which was capped off with a trip to the Pro Bowl. Not only that, but Burns becomes the first Panther to make an appearance on this year’s list.

Burns was ranked higher than other notable edge-rushers Tre Hendrickson (Bengals), Von Miller (Bills), and Shaquil Barret (Buccaneers).
This is long overdue for Burns, as he’s become one of the best young pass rushers in the NFL. In a sit-down with the Top 100, NFC South rival tackle Tristan Wirfs had high praise for Burns saying he’s “underrated”.
Burns is on trajectory to become the next great pass-rusher in Charlotte. In the last two seasons he’s recorded nine sacks and at least 50 tackles.
Drafted out of Florida State in 2019, Burns has been exactly what the Panthers have asked for, which warranted the team to pick up his fifth-year option this past April. If he keeps this up, this won’t be the last time we see Brian Burns on the NFL’s Top 100.
