New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has missed the first few games of the season due to suspension. He was punished for his involvement in a Las Vegas beating last February that left a man severely injured. The NFL suspended Kamara for the first three games of the 2023 season, leaving the Saints offense without their star running back. It has now been three weeks, and Alvin Kamara has now been cleared to play in week four.

Alvin Kamara Impact
The Saints star has been such a huge reason for their past success. In the last three seasons with New Orleans, Kamara has rushed for about 900 yards, averaging over four yards a carry. In his seven-year career, Alvin Kamara has amounted to 5,135 total yards and 49 touchdowns. His best season came in 2020, when he rushed for 932 yards and 16 touchdowns, putting up a great campaign to be an MVP nominee.
His absence has been detrimental to the Saint’s run game, as they have only been able to rush for 280 yards so far this season. The star running back looks to make a huge impact on this offense as he returns in week four against the NFC South foe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
More Information on Suspension
Kamara’s suspension was handed out because of his battery arrest in Las Vegas in 2022. The running back pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of breach of peace. He was then ordered 30 hours of community service and had to pay the victim Darrell Greene $105,196.17 for medical expenses.
Alvin Kamara was also fined another $500 for the incident, which ultimately was the price he paid because of his plea. He would have had a five-year sentence if he had not pleaded no contest. New Orleans is 3-7 in games without the star running back since he started playing.
