Quickly following the Super Bowl, Eagles’ offensive coordinator, Steichen, left to become the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. This, along with the departure of defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, left Philadelphia with two major holes in the coaching staff. However, they didn’t have to look far to find a replacement for the first.
Johnson, a former offensive coordinator at the University of Florida, has been on the Eagles’ staff as a quarterbacks coach since 2021. He was a candidate for multiple other teams’ offensive coordinator openings but decided to stay in Philadelphia.

Johnson has played a major part in the development of Jalen Hurts, having been with him since his first year as a starter. Now, he gets an even bigger role with the star quarterback.
