The Tennessee Titans are in a state of flux as they’re still dealing with the departure of key figures to their team. Mike Vrabel and Derrick Henry’s absences from the Titans sideline will still leave a lot of Tennessee fans wondering on what their team would look like moving forward.
However, there are also plenty of reasons to be excited. The upcoming 2024 NFL Draft will have the team select impact players that will help get the new era of Titans football on the right start.
Analysts predict the Tennessee Titans go with an offensive tackle as their first pick in the 2024 Draft
The Titans asked multiple analysts which players they should target in the upcoming draft. They currently have the seventh pick in the draft and are in a position to select a myriad of players to immediately help them improve.
Casual fans may suggest that the Titans should look for a QB as there are plenty of high-ceiling signal callers in this year’s QB class. However, almost every analyst agreed that the team should select an offensive lineman to shore up their pass protection and better facilitate their run game.
Aside from the fact that the Tennessee Titans want to try it again with Will Levis, they were the third-worst pass protection teams in the league after allowing opposing pass rushers to sack their QB 64 times through 17 games. Their run game was marginally better as they finished 17th in rushing yards and 11th in rushing TDs, but all of this can be attributed to King Henry’s dominance.
Who were the linemen linked with the Titans?
There were many offensive linemen the analysts could have recommended to the Tennessee Titans, but there were two names that got mentioned the most times.
Notre Dame’s Joe Alt is widely regarded as a talented offensive tackle with an impressive 6’7″, 280-lb frame. However, what makes him an exciting lineman is his explosive athleticism. His deceptive speed makes him an excellent lead blocker for multiple schemes.
The other name being thrown around is Penn State’s Olumuyiwa Fashanu. He has a stockier body at 6’6″, 319 lbs. Scouts rave about his natural feel for pass protection, which also makes him a perfect match for Levis under center.
The other names thrown into the mix for the Tennessee Titans include Oregon State OT Taliese Fuaga, LSU WR Malik Nabers, and Washington WR Rome Odunze.
