Bijan Robinson recently appeared on FOX’s Undisputed to talk to Skip Bayless and Keyshawn Johnson about the current state of the team. During the 11-minute interview, the eighth overall pick from the 2023 NFL Draft couldn’t hide his excitement, to the point that he made one bold claim.
“For me, you know, I feel that we have a Super Bowl-caliber team,” said Robinson.” You know, we have all the pieces that we need, and with coach Raheem coming in and all the coaching staff that he brought in, I feel that it was the change that was definitely needed for this team.”
Why is Bijan Robinson understandably excited?
In the 2023 season, the Atlanta Falcons were off to a promising start after they defeated the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers in their first two games. However, they eventually finished with a 7-10 record, good for third in the NFC South.
Then-head coach Arthur Smith was fired and was replaced by Raheem Morris, who wasted no time revamping his coaching staff. With the hiring of Kevin Koger and Tim Berbenich, among others, many believe that the Atlanta Falcons should have a much-improved offense next season.
“I really can’t wait to see what they come up with and their plan for the team,” said Robinson in a separate interview with SBNation’s Jeanna Kelley. “And they’re just great dudes that want the best for Atlanta, want the best for our team. And obviously, they talk to all their players to see how they feel about them as well.”
Bijan Robinson will be an integral cog for the Atlanta Falcons moving forward
Many believe that Arthur Smith was holding back Bijan Robinson in 2023. Still, the former Texas running back managed to record 976 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns for an average of 4.6 yards per carry, and he also had 487 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.
With him, Kyle Pitts, Tyler Allgeier, and Drake London all in tow and under 25 years old, the future is suddenly looking bright in Atlanta.
“I feel like all we’ve got to do is just keep playing for each other and keep growing together as a team, but just stay consistent week-to-week and not have a great week here, and then next week we’re trying to fight for a win in that game,” said Robinson. “I know that when we get over that hump, we’ll be the most dominant team in the NFL.”
