With the 2022 college football season right around the corner, there is wide speculation to who will have the best chance to win the Championship this year. The best bets would be Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, USC, and Ohio State. Some of the teams that trail after that are Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. Ohio State edged Alabama in odds to win the Championship this year.
The Buckeyes have a +320 chance on one site to win. ESPN gave the Buckeyes a +300 chance to win the championship. Ohio State returns the majority of their starters on offense from last season including Heisman Candidate C.J. Stroud and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. TreVeyon Henderson also returns at running back. The defense can hopefully improve from last season with a new defensive coordinator in Jim Knowles.

Ohio State just edged Alabama with the Crimson Tide boasting a +190 chance of winning. ESPN gave Alabama +180 odds to win which is slightly less. It may end up with Ohio State having to verse Alabama in the big game depending on if all goes right. Both will have to win their conference championships first and not lose more than one game.
The Biggest Question Mark
The biggest question mark for this coming season is the defense and how it will perform. More specifically, the question mark for the defense is the linebacker play. The play of the linebackers needs to improve, but luckily the Buckeyes have hired coach Sam McGrath to help. The linebacking core is led by senior Tommy Eichenburg who finished the last year with 17 tackles in the Rose Bowl. Steele Chambers is another linebacker who was a force last season. He finished the year with 27 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and one interception. The rest of the room is full of young players and it will be hard to see improvement this season. Eichenburg and Chambers will need to have big years for the linebackers to have a good year.
