The Baltimore Ravens are hoping that Odell Beckham Jr. can recapture the magic of the last time he was on the field. After tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl, the star wide receiver took an entire year off in order to rehab and find the right team to sign with. In a recent interview, he talked about the “dark days” during his rehab.
Baltimore Ravens Odell Beckham Jr. Talks Rehab
Beckham Jr. talked with Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun about his rehab.
“First day coming out, I just wanted to be grateful for that moment. It was a long time in rehab, dark days, hard times. Just to be able to be back out there running around; I didn’t care what happened. It was just a blessing to be able to step out on that field.”
He revealed he even considered retirement while rehabbing. The fact that he is on the field and seems to be feeling good is a testament to his hard work and resolve.
Expectations For 2023
The Ravens have a revamped offense under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Lamar Jackson is ready to air it out more and become a problem for opposing offenses again. While there are plenty of other weapons on the field, the Ravens need Beckham Jr. to garner a lot of attention from opposing defenses. If he can get back to his elite ways, the Ravens could field one of the top offenses in the league this year. If not, the Ravens could see only a small step forward in the passing game.
The Baltimore Ravens have high expectations for 2023. The signing of Odell Beckham Jr. and many other high-profile wide receivers show they are committed to passing the ball. Will they be able to make it out of the AFC North?
