Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Indianapolis Colts are releasing Phillip Lindsay after signing the 5-foot-8, 190-pound tailback to a contract in May. The undrafted Lindsay recorded back-to-back 1000-yard rushing seasons with the Denver Broncos in his first two seasons. Despite showcasing his breakaway speed and solidifying himself as one of the league’s better halfbacks, Lindsay parted ways with the Broncos after an injury-riddled 2020 campaign. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Kansas City Chiefs will release wide receiver Josh Gordon as they trim their roster down to the 53-player maximum. A former second-round pick, Gordon suited up for the Chiefs for 15 games in 2021. He recorded five receptions for 32 yards and one touchdown in these contests, his first NFL season since 2019. Per ESPN’s Adam Shefter, veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo agreed to restructure his contract with the San Francisco 49ers. The contract will be a one-year deal that contains no-trade and no-tag clauses. As a result, the 30-year-old ensures that he will remain with the 49ers for the 2022 season, backing up second-year quarterback Trey Lance. Lance, whom San Francisco drafted third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, was handed the starting reigns in July.
