Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson was injured yet again this week in the game against the Tennessee Titans. Richardson suffered an AC joint sprain that was revealed in an MRI on Sunday in Indianapolis. This injury could potentially sideline the star rookie quarterback for four to six weeks due to the severity. This news comes from analyst Adam Schefter on Twitter.
Colts’ HC Shane Steichen told reporters that QB Anthony Richardson will miss “some time” with his sprained AC joint.

The Injury
Richardson went down with a right shoulder injury in the second quarter with 4:29 left in the first half. He was tackled by Titans linebacker Harold Landry III, who took the rookie to the ground causing him to land awkwardly on his right shoulder. The rookie quarterback knew right away that his shoulder was injured as he pointed to it as soon as he went down for trainers to inspect.

Luckily for the Colts, Richardson was able to walk off of the field under his own power, but he was not able to lift his injured shoulder. He was then taken to the locker room by trainers after a quick visit to the blue medical tent. The rookie quarterback finished the game going for 98 passing yards before getting injured.
Anthony Richardson’s 2023
The Colts’ quarterback has been playing very well when he has been healthy this season. Richardson has gone for 577 passing yards and three touchdowns in 2023 and has drawn the attention of NFL fans around the world with his versatile style. He has only played through two complete games this season after suffering injuries early on throughout the season.
The potential four to six-week timeline was given by a team source, so it may fluctuate as the week goes on. With that being said, this is still a serious injury that will take a good amount of time to heal. Anthony Richardson and Colts fans are hoping for the fastest recovery time possible. We will continue to update you on this situation as it continues to unfold.
