The Hollywood-style ending of the huge SEC game between Tennessee and Alabama game had a shocking incident. Video rolls as Crimson Tide WR Jermaine Burton assaults a woman while she was storming the field. Now, these are serious allegations against the transfer from Georgia, but the tape doesn’t lie.

As you can see from the tweet above, he clearly assaults the woman while she was storming the field. I really do not know how to address this issue. I mean, “Burton assaults woman” is a huge headline, but is that the whole story? Does he bear all the blame? He also takes a swipe at someone else. Bro you know everyone has tik tok and twitter, keep your cool you will get caught.

Now the way I was raised you never under any circumstances hit a woman. I personally do not think that he should have struck the woman. I know in most of my blogs I am not very serious and come across as brash but this is a different story. I am really going to try to look at this from all angles.

Ok, so my perspective can help out a little bit, I played. I understand what it’s like when you pour everything you have all week practicing, studying, and lifting into a game. The emotion it takes to play football is like nothing else. I never played at a D1 level but even in the smaller leagues you go through a whirlwind of emotions after a huge loss or win.
Now I can’t be 100% accurate on what was said to Burton or any of the Alabama players while all of Knoxville swarmed all around them. Being an educated man and a fan of sports I can take some good guesses as to the words used toward Tide players. I am positive that some fans even got into the faces of some of the tide players. It kind of looks like the woman in question got into Burton’s face before the alleged incident.
All of this being said, Bro what the hell are you doing? That is a woman. She is more than likely intoxicated. You are a man, grow up and take the mean words and stupid little insults. You lost, it hurts we get it. You have to just take it, my guy. Burton’s name now in google is followed by assaults woman. That is not a good look and you probably aren’t a bad guy. You honestly just let your emotions get the best of you. Also, if that was a guy, in my opinion alone, he does that yeah you can smack him away. You just can’t do that to a woman.

I mean this side of the story isn’t really that difficult. She was more than likely a few drinks in, if not ok sorry, and she approached him. It looks like she said something to him and people don’t expect people to react that way. It is known in America’s culture that women are protected for the most part from physical violence from men. If one guy sees a man approach a woman in a threatening way, men instinctually go to help.
Now with all of that being said, she should not have provoked him. In general, when storming a field or court there should be a level of controlled chaos. You know the other team just lost and you are excited. Yeah well, they are pissed off and just want to leave the field. Stormers should have etiquette and just go celebrate with their team and fans to avoid these issues.

To be honest, and with no bias. It was both their faults. Players should never touch fans under any circumstances. Fans are not allowed to storm, but I get that they had to in that spot. Don’t provoke the guys that just lost a heartbreaking game, they are going to react in a negative way. Both sides grow up. Don’t hit anyone, and don’t provoke anyone. Y’all will be playing again maybe in the SEC championship game so let the hate come out there. He should have to do up-downs and monkey rolls for 3 hours and be suspended for a half, that’s it move on.

Bull! Rushing the field is not unusual. Happens at a lot of college stadiums regularly. Happens in every sport. If you can’t handle it get out of the game. The girl clearly tried to avoid running into him and had passed him so she was not a threat to him. I bet she barely weighs a 100 lbs. Poor baby had his feelings hurt. Shame on him and Saban. Shame on you for defending him.
