The Alabama Crimson Tide has dominated college football for the past decade and a half. After Nick Saban retired, many programs are hoping things will change. Don’t count on it. New head coach Kalen DeBoer has come in and kept the program together. While some players have left, we haven’t seen the mass exodus many thought would happen. Returning defensive lineman Damon Payne Jr. revealed the high expectations he has for the team in 2024.

Payne Jr. talked specifically about the defensive line. For years, the Crimson Tide have been strong in the trenches, and he wants to see that continue.
“We want teams to fear us when we stepped on that line. We want teams to not want to play our defensive line.”
One thing is for sure: the players are fired up to play for their new head coach. Whatever DeBoer has said to the players in Tuscaloosa in his short time there has caught on. This team is ready to get on the field and continue to dominate the college football world.
2024 Outlook
The Crimson Tide have the most important position figured out. Jalen Milroe is back at quarterback and will likely be a preseason Heisman candidate. DeBoer is coming off a national championship appearance with Washington. He has coached in big games and shown he can win. There will be plenty of big games in the SEC. The biggest one comes early, as Georgia is on the regular season schedule in 2024. This game will be a measuring stick of where the team is.
Can the Crimson Tide continue their dominance? The players sure seem to think so.
