Touted as one of the best college recruits ever in football, Travis Hunter has entered the transfer portal. Hunter, the former number two overall recruit in 2021, who flipped his commitment on December 15th of last year from Florida State to Jackson State to play for Deion Sanders has been rumored to follow his former Jackson State at Colorado now. But where else could Travis Hunter end up if he chooses to not head to Boulder, Colorado.
Hunter Looking For Best Fit
Travis Hunter released on his YouTube page a video announcing him entering the transfer portal. He also spoke about how he wants to go somewhere that’s the best fit for him.
“Yes, everybody wants me to follow Coach Prime, but I need to know if it’s not a fit for me, then I’ll go. If it’s not a fit for me, I’m not going. I want to make everything clear. I’m not saying I’m not committed to Colorado right now or that I’m never going to do it, but that’s not my plan right now to just go jump and be on the team. I’m just weighing my options out.”
True Freshman athlete Travis Hunter has officially entered the transfer portal. On3's @ChadSimmons_ says Georgia, Miami, and USC are the 3 teams to watch for besides Colorado👀

Miami
Hunter, according to ON3 Sports’ Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, is linked to Georgia, Miami, and USC. Miami, I believe would be the least likely of the teams just because Hunter can walk into any team in the country and be a force right away. So, if he chose to not play for Coach Prime why would he go to a school that’s not competing for a title. No disrespect to Miami but Travis Hunter may be a stretch for them. Although I don’t think he will go to Miami the case can be made that they have some of the best recruiting in college football. Mario Cristobal has signed three 5 Star recruits including the number one cornerback in the the country, so Hunter could be intrigued by that scenario.
Georgia
Georgia would make the most sense as even after Hunter was committed to Florida State, he still was meeting with head coach Kirby Smart as well as took two visits in October of last year. Being that Hunter is a Georgia native, joining the number one team in the country could very well be a possibility. Georgia has also been the top defense in the nation for the last two seasons so I expect everything Kirby Smart can do with NIL to get Hunter on campus.
USC
USC could use the services of the two-way star as well as USC quickly turned around their team through the transfer portal. After Lincoln Riley was able to bring along Caleb Williams, Mario Williams, and add Jordan Addison last season looks to continue to improve through the portal. USC had 19 transfer start at least a game for them last season and Hunter would surely be another massive addition. Hunter was offered by Oklahoma when Riley was the head coach there so there is already a relationship between the two of them.

In all honesty though Hunter is going to end up in Colorado with Coach Prime. If you want to be a two-way player and make it to the NFL then you should be coached by the best to ever do it. Hunter finished last season with 18 catches for 188 yards and four scores offensively while on defense he had 19 tackles, eight pass breakups and two interceptions.
