The Georgia Bulldogs have been given just a 23.8% chance to defeat the top-ranked Texas Longhorns in Austin this coming weekend.
The Bulldogs are currently 5-1 on the season with the lone loss coming to the Alabama Crimson Tide in a 41-34 game. Georgia has looked great this season at times, but at other times appear to be suffering real internal struggles on the team. Perhaps some of these issues came to light against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, when coach Kirby Smart appeared to shove an opposing player away from his sideline.
Moving forward, the Georgia Bulldogs must visit the Texas Longhorns in Austin in a pivotal game between two top-five ranked schools. The Georgia defense struggled last weekend against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, which seems to have prompted to win chances against Texas to shift downwards. Currently, according to ESPN, the Bulldogs have just a 23.8% chance to defeat the Longhorns in Texas.
Georgia may have struggled defensively, but quarterback Carson Beck is on the heels of a career performance. While Beck had two interceptions, the quarterback recorded 459-yards passing, three touchdowns, and a completion percentage of 75% against the Mississippi State defense. Wide receiver Arian Smith had an exceptional performance as well with five receptions, 134-yards, and one touchdown.

With the performance that Georgia had on offense, the match-up against the Texas Longhorns should be rather interesting to watch. Both programs have had tough tests thus far into the season, but now must play the toughest game of each of their schedules.
Georgia Bulldogs Offense Looking to Continue Hot-Streak Against Longhorns
Coming into the game, the battle between Texas and Georgia is likely going to come down to the offensive efficiency of each team.
The Georgia Bulldogs have displayed an exceptional defense this season, which could likely slow down the Texas Longhorns offense. Quarterback Quinn Ewers looked great in his return to the lineup last weekend behind his exceptional offensive line. The line will surely be tested when facing off against Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, Jalon Walker, and Raylen Wilson.
The #Texas OT duo of Kelvin Banks Jr. (0) and Cameron Williams (1) have only allowed a single pressure and zero sacks this year on 322 combined pass blocking snaps.
Next up: Georgia’s defensive front 🍿
— Jordan Reid (@Jordan_Reid) October 14, 2024
The Texas Longhorns offensive line has been practically perfect this season, allowing just six sacks this season and only a handful of pressures. The Georgia Bulldogs defense, however, has recorded 11 sacks and consistently have found ways to get to the quarterback this season. While the Bulldogs might be predicted to lose by four-points at the moment, the Georgia defensive front can truly change then once the game kicks off.
