The New York Giants this offseason signed quarterback Drew Lock to compete with Daniel Jones for the starting quarterback job. Well, Lock didn’t perform well and the Giants decided to double down on Jones for the 2024 season.
On Sunday night, the Giants lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 17-7 and dropped to 2-4 on the season. Daniel Jones has not thrown a touchdown pass at home yet this season and many fans are finished with him.
New York Giants Are Frustrated With Daniel Jones And Just Want Drew Lock To Play At This Point
Lock is not going to be the long-term answer for the Giants, but he can’t be any worse than Jones has performed this season. Daniel Jones completed 22-of-41 passes for 205 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. He also rushed for 56 yards on 11 carries and zero touchdowns.
Jones is not capable of hitting passes deep and reading a defense to find the open man. Here are what Giants fans said about them wanting to start Lock:
Put in Drew Lock bro

Daniel Jones is horrendous🤮🤮🤮
It’s time for the Giants to admit their financial mistake in re-signing him to a massive contract and move on.
Drew Lock needs to be the starting QB in week 7 and it’s not even a debate in my opinion.#Giants100pic.twitter.com/156e7K00I7

I know Drew Lock is horrendous but I honestly need to see the change man. This is absolutely insane. Maybe they do it after he melts against Philly next week

Hate to tell you but Drew Lock or Tommy Devito ain’t the answer neither Daboll deserves to get his own QB next spring https://t.co/wIkkPmOCUa

Fans are correct that Lock is not the long-term answer and neither is Daniel Jones or Tommy DeVito. All the fans are asking for is to see something different at the quarterback position for the Giants. Lock started a couple of games last season for the Seattle Seahawks when Geno Smith was injured. One of the games Lock played was against the Philadelphia Eagles at home and won that game.
Season On the Line
The Giants are 2-4 and the Philadelphia Eagles are 3-2. If New York loses another start with Daniel Jones against the Eagles and drops to 2-5 next week, it should be the end of Jones being the starting quarterback of the New York Giants. They would also be 0-3 in NFC East play.
The Giants are a quarterback away from being a dangerous playoff team. They improved in so many different areas this season and the quarterback is the missing link to this team. Lock deserves to play this season if the season gets lost for New York.
