The 2024 schedule has been revealed for the Alabama Crimson Tide. We’ve known for a while now who the team would play, but now we know the order of opponents.
The Tide will start the season with a couple of easy games as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and South Florida Bulls come to town. However, the third game of the season could be a tough won as the Tide head up north to face the Wisconsin Badgers.

Now, let’s identify 3 takeaways from the schedule thus far.
One of the non-conference games could be a challenge
Typically, top teams in college football will schedule 4 games against weak opponents. This is to give the team some built-in wins before a tough conference schedule sets in.
Well, the Tide have one non-conference game that will not be a guaranteed win. The Tide travel up to Madison on Sept. 14 to take on a tough Badger team. The Badgers could be improved with the addition of former Miami QB Tyler Van Dyke. 2024 will also be the 2nd year under head coach Luke Fickell, and Madison is not the easiest place to play.
The Tide will likely be favored, but this is not a game the team can sleepwalk through. Fortunately, the Tide’s other non-conference games should be easy wins. WKU, USF, and Mercer are the other non-SEC games.
An early rematch against Georgia could set the tone
The Tide will face the Georgia Bulldogs on Sept. 28 in Tuscaloosa. This will be the earliest matchup between the rivals since 2008. One of these teams will get a loss in September, which could have huge repercussions later in the season.
The Bulldogs defeated the Tide in the National Championship in 2022, but have not beaten the Tide otherwise since 2007. This game being in Tuscaloosa could be the difference in 2024. Either way, it will be nice for the Tide to get arguably their toughest game of the regular season out of the way in September.
The last month of the season is brutal
This is what the Tide’s November will look like: Bye, at LSU, vs. Mercer, at Oklahoma, vs. Auburn. That’s a brutal final stretch and could determine whether or not the Tide make it back to Atlanta for the SEC Championship.
Death Valley and Norman are always tough places to get a win. The Iron Bowl is always a hard-fought game where strange things tend to happen. There’s a scenario where the Tide lose 2 of these games and have any playoff hopes shattered. If the Tide successfully navigate this stretch, we could be looking at another Alabama championship team.
