The College Football Season is getting closer. With 29 days left until BYU football kickoffs against South Florida let’s get to know some players on the roster for this upcoming season. This will give fans an idea of where these players have come from and what they could do for the cougars this season. I will do one every day there is a player with that number.
Chris Jackson
Today is Chris Jackson senior wide receiver 5-10 184 lbs. Before coming to BYU he played at Pomona High School in California. In 2020 he played in 8 games. Jackson had 6 receptions for 22 yards and zero touchdowns. He had 9 rushing attempts for43 yards and zero touchdowns. In the 2021 season, he played in 13 games. Jackson had 4 receptions for 39 yards and zero touchdowns. He also had 3 rushing attempts for 12 yards and zero touchdowns. Last season he was one of 26 players to play in all 13 games. Made some big plays for BYU and is ready to make some more.
Growing up wasn’t easy for Jackson as he grew up in neighborhoods with drugs and gangs. Jackson ultimately stayed away from those and played football. Football was his ticket out of that kind of lifestyle. Went to junior college right out of high school. He didn’t get comfortable and still fights every day on the field. Coach Fesi Sitake offered him a spot while he was playing junior college ball.
