With the 2022 season starting just 2 months from now the Cougars play another strong schedule. Let us preview the 2022 schedule and see what their opponents will bring to the table. With Jaren Hall at starting quarterback, the return of Gunner Romney at wide receiver, also the return of Chris Jackson and a very experienced running back group. The offense is looking good and if they can stay healthy it will be another big year for the Cougars. On the defensive side of the ball, we have many experienced guys returning. Again, if they can stay healthy, they can damage an opposing team’s offense.

The success for the Bulls didn’t look good in 2021 and probably still won’t in 2022. They lose a QB, an OT, and a TE. They got a transfer quarterback from Baylor who will most likely be the starter and he had a big season for Baylor last year so that may what helps turn this team around.

Big 12 defending champions. Starting QB transferred, two RBs are gone, three WRs one transfers and the other two have played their last season. Ben Sims tight end returns. Two offensive linemen, one linebacker, and four in the secondary are also not returning for the bears. The defense could be solid this season and linebackers still show potential. The secondary is going to struggle but still should produce some results. This team could do what they did last year but with all these losses it will be a daunting task.

There were some big wins for Oregon in 2021. They will lose Anthony Brown starting quarterback, running back Tavis Dye who is transferring, running back CJ Verdell, wide receiver Devon Williams, wide receiver Johnny Johnson III, one OL, one DL, one LB, and one loss in the secondary. The Ducks bring in or back, QB Bo Nix, RB Byron Cardwell, and WR Kris Hutson. Could be a top team in the Pac-12 and also could be a national contender if they fill certain holes in their team.

Wyoming isn’t a top team in the country no matter what happens next year. They lose two QBs, two WRs, one RB, and 6 top players on the defense. They bring in a QB from Utah St, get defensive transfers from Ole Miss and Wisconsin. It’s going to be a big rebuilding year for the Cowboys. Will struggle should be an easy win for the Cougars.

The Aggies had a great season and won the Mountain West. They lose three WRs, a DE, an LB, an S, and a TE. At the end of the year, they improved more as the season went on. This could be a team who will continue to improve and have a great season. They could also potentially come back to win the Mountain West again this year.

Arkansas had some notable wins and losses in 2021. They lose WR Treylon Burks, RB Trelon Smith, WR Tyson Morris, two OL, three DLs, one LB, and one in the secondary. The Razorbacks return starting QB K.J. Jefferson, RB Raheim Sanders, and RB Dominique Johnson. They could still be a contender in the SEC West next season. This schedule for 2022 is brutal. Playing Cincinnati, Texas AM, Alabama, Mississippi St, BYU, Auburn, and Ole Miss are some of the bigger games they will play in their potential rebuilding year.
Liberty Away

Liberty had a good season last year what does this season hold? The Flames lose a QB, RB, WR, LB, CB, and a DT. This is going to be hard to replicate last season with all these losses and young a team for this season. The turnovers hurt them and could hurt them again this season.

They had a good season compared to other seasons with a similar schedule. The Pirates lose two WRs, a CB, and an S. They could have a better season but with losing some key players but with those having replacements from the transfer pool. The wide receiver core is the biggest question for the Pirates.

Boise State struggled last season being the third team in the Mountain West. The Broncos lose two RBs, a QB, a CB, an LB, an RT, and an OG. They could be the strongest roster in the Mountain West this year and could that help them come back and win this MW this season? They need to fix their running game to help win some more games.

Stanford Away
Saturday, November 26th TBA
2021 record: 3-9
Last time played: 2003
Team Preview
Stanford is a struggling team and they do look like they are trending in an upward position. The Cardinals lose an RB, two LBs, DE, and an OT. With a team who is returning a lot of players from last season, this doesn’t mean they will automatically start winning games so don’t expect too much from the Cardinals this Season.
