Are there team chemistry issues in the Miami Dolphins locker room? If you talk to the defense, there may be.
Typically, players will boost up and promote other players on their team as being the best. Even if they may not actually think it, it is what most players do, if nothing else, to sound unified and supportive of their teammates. This is a very common thing among all levels of sports, but especially the NFL. A player or coach may say that they wouldn’t want to play with anyone else, even though that player or coach may not actually be the best in the league.
Players, particularly in the NFL, are very careful about what they say; they don’t deviate much from coach talk. However, that was not the case when Miami Dolphins safety Jordan Poyer announced who he believed was the best quarterback in the NFL.
Jordan Poyer Believes Josh Allen is Best Quarterback

Jordan Poyer spent seven years as a safety for the Buffalo Bills. However, he was released from the team in March and was quickly picked up by the Miami Dolphins. Rather than feeling upset or betrayed by the team and letting them go, we attended a charity softball game in Buffalo. He shared the following words and what he calls a proper sendoff or closer to his time in Buffalo.
“”Seven years out here, man…I loved every moment of it. Thank you so much for allowing me to grow as a person, as a player. Teammates, coaches, everybody, man, I loved every moment of it. Sorry we couldn’t get it done, but you’ve got the best quarterback in the league. I know that might go viral, but it’s OK. I get to see y’all twice a year. I can’t wait. You guys come down to Miami. I get to come back to Orchard Park one more time.”
The remarks were likely not made as a shot at Tua Tagovailoa and may have been made in a rushed statement; however, the statement does seem odd since he is now playing for a new team.
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa Led NFL in Passing Yards

Not to bash other quarterbacks in the NFL, but had he made this same remark about Josh Allen but had players like Desmond Ritter, Bryce Young, or Gardner Minshew as his current QB, then there is some validity to having an opinion to Josh Allen being the best, even if not played for your his current team. But Tua Tagovailoa led all quarterbacks in the NFL in passing yards last season with 4624, more than 300 yards than Josh Allen had.
Tua also had a better yards per attempt, completion percentage, and TD/INT ratio. In other words, on paper, Tua was the better quarterback, making Poyer’s words seem odd and disrespectful to some degree. e
Honestly, I get it. Poyer played with Josh Allen for seven years and built up a good relationship with his QB. And honestly he may believe he is the best QB, but it probably isn’t best to bring that up to the public.
