Matt Ryan was drafted third overall in 2008 by the Atlanta Falcons out of Boston College.
In Ryan’s historic career, he’s a 2016 MVP Winner and also made the Super Bowl that season, which was famous for Ryan’s Falcons blowing a 28-3 lead to the New England Patriots, which makes Bill Belichick almost becoming the Falcons coach for the 2024-25 season even more ironic for Falcons fans.
Matt Ryan was also 2008 Offensive Rookie of the Year, All-Pro (2016), and four-time Pro Bowler (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016).
To say Matt Ryan understands what makes a star quarterback is a massive understatement. In a game the Packers played vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Matt Ryan said Packers quarterback Jordan Love stood out in a “tough loss” for the Packers.
Matt Ryan Has High Praise for Jordan Love

Matt Ryan had the following to say about Jordan Love, and how he reminded him of Aaron Rodgers.
“I mean, it was a tough loss for the Packers,” said the former star via PackersNews. “But he [Love] made a couple throws during that game that reminded me so much of Aaron. The ability to move outside the pocket, to throw from kind of off-platform situations, and deliver the velocity and accuracy he did, I was really impressed.”
Matt Ryan also said that he’s got some things to clean up to unlock and fulfill his full potential.
“cleaning up the little things” which will come from experience. “Having all that film to watch from last year,” he continued. “Just cleaning up some of those simple things, being a little bit consistent, I think if he can do that, the sky’s the limit.”

Matt Ryan is not the only legendary quarterback to praise Jordan Love, many have already, but one sticks out a lot.
Tom Brady has also praised Love and said how Aaron Rodgers was a great influence on Love and his success so far. Rodgers is also a future Hall of Famer like Brady is.
He [Jordan Love] had Aaron Rodgers to watch That’s the best type of training, in my opinion. Watch someone else do it at a very high level and then try to emulate them with your own personality.” Brady also opined that it’s a misconception that rookies can turn into excellent players right out of the draft. “Maybe a little bit of a misnomer with the draft is that these players can come in and all of the sudden become this great professional player before they’ve really had the training and the development.”
