Another day, another group of Colorado football players headed for the transfer portal ahead of the team’s spring game in late April. On Monday, five members of the Buffaloes made public their intentions to enter the transfer portal, including defensive contributors Chazz Wallace and Jaden Milliner-Jones. Starting offensive tackle Savion Washington also made plans to leave Boulder, Colorado. On Tuesday, wideout Tar’Varish Dawson and standout defensive back Cormani McClain headlined another group of Colorado football players entering the spring window of the portal.
The exodus of talent among coach Prime’s team continued on Wednesday, with defensive back Vito Tisdale going portal hopping. He will head to his third school in as many years. Edge rusher Khairi Manns will also transfer.
Colorado Buffaloes DB Vito Tisdale: Leaving Program
After just one season with the Colorado football program, Vito Tisdale will head to the transfer portal. According to 247Sports, Tisdale is a three-star recruit in the class of 2020. He picked the Kentucky Wildcats out of Bowling Green High School. He also held offers from the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Florida State Seminoles. However, off-the-field issues plagued Tisdale during his time with the SEC program.

Tisdale played as a true freshman, collecting 20 tackles in seven games. He again played a reserve role in 2021, tallying 19 tackles and collecting his first sack, which came in an early season contest against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. However, a knee injury sustained during spring football sidelined Tisdale for the 2022 campaign. The following offseason, the Kentucky Wildcats dismissed Tisdale from the program, citing “a violation of team rules.” Tisdale had off-the-field troubles before his dismissal, being charged with first-degree wanton engagement for an incident at a fraternity party circa 2021. He was also cited for marijuana possession that same year.
Colorado Football: Safety Depth Chart
Vito Tisdale will leave Colorado after posting little production in 2023. The six-foot-one, 200-pound third-level defender played in three games but did not record a tackle. Star defender Shilo Sanders and strong safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig will again patrol the backend of the defense. Sanders posted 70 tackles and an interception in 2023. Meanwhile, Silmon-Craig had 44 tackles and three interceptions.
Transfer Adonis Forrest and sophomore Carter Stoutmire will also play the safety position. Forrest transferred to Colorado from Eastern Illinois University, while Stoutmire had 11 tackles.
