Your Absolute Favorite Week Five Preview: New York Giants (3-1) vs Green Bay Packers (3-1)
Packers lead series 34-26-2
Vegas Line – Packers -8 (41 O/U)
The Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants take to the sky to travel to London in this week five matchup. This is the first time both teams heading to London have a winning record. The Packers have won the last three contests against the Giants, one of those being the 2017 NFC Wild Card game. These two teams have been playing each other for nearly 100 years; their first game was in 1928. This is Brian Daboll’s first trip to London as the Giants’ head coach. He has been instrumental in the team’s surprising 3-1 start. The Packers are on a three-game winning streak. Week five will be a serious test of preparation and skill for either team.

Week Five Preview: What to Watch For
Proper Preparation
Preparation is the name of the game for traveling teams in London. There is a six hour time difference between Green Bay and London. Preparation is key, a sentiment shared by Coach LaFleur. “The team that handles the trip the best is going to put themselves in the best position to win the game,” he says, “and disciple in a big part of that.” Coach LaFleur eluded answering reporters questions about how exactly the team is preparing. Number 12 was just as candid, saying “I got a couple of techniques that I like to use to kinda get on a time schedule, I’ll keep those to myself, those are competitive advantages.”
Packers’ Run Defense
The Packers’ run defense will be severely tested in week five against one of the league’s top run offenses. Green Bay’s run defense has bent but not broken so far in 2022; they have allowed 507 yards with a 5 YPC, but only allowed two touchdowns. Saquon Barkley has bounced back and playing at the level he was going at in his rookie year. Giants fans are relieved to see that their star running back has plenty left in the tank.
Cheeseheads in London
The Green Bay Packers fans are famous for traveling well. You can find a mass of Cheeseheads in any away Packers game. London is no different. Rodgers said it well: “nobody wants to give up a home game against the Green Bay Packers, you know our fans travel well, we’re gonna show up at the stadium that place is going to be packed…you know the packers fans are going to show up.” It will be fun to see our British counterparts celebrate Packerdom.
My Week Five Preview Predictions – Packers 28 – Giants 13
- This will be a very ground heavy game. Both defenses rank in the top 10 in passing yards but rank in the bottom 10 in rushing. I predict that Aaron Jones and AJ Dillion will rush for 70 yards each. Barkley will top 120 yards.
- The Packers will commit at least three turnovers. The Pack has only forced four turnovers all year but the Giants have given up a second-worst nine turnovers so far in 2022. Daniel Jones is notorious for fumbling and I think that the Packers will exploit that with their pass rush.
