The Wisconsin Badgers are coming off of a slightly disappointment season under head coach Luke Fickell. It looked like the team had some growing pains with a new head coach. In year two, the expectations are much higher. Fickell and his staff have been busy getting a lot of talent from the transfer portal. He struck gold again as former USC linebacker Tackett Curtis announced his commitment to the program.

Wisconsin Badgers Land LB Tackett Curtis
Curtis was the highest available linebacker in the portal according to On3. In 2023 he had 40 total tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks while also recovering two fumbles. He is the latest piece in a complete overhaul of the position. Curtis is the sixth linebacker that Fickell has recruited out of the portal. He is making sure that the second level of the defense has some juice in 2024. What makes this even more juicy is the Trojans will play the Badgers next season.
Top Ten Transfer Portal Class
According to On3, the Badgers now have a top ten transfer portal class in 2024. They are just behind the Florida State Seminoles and just ahead of Big Ten newcomer Washington. Sitting at ninth, they are the highest-rated Big Ten team currently. While there still is a lot of offseason to go, the fact that the Badgers have been able to bring in this much talent is a good sign moving forward.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers make some noise in the Big Ten in 2024? If Fickell and his staff can keep this up, other Big Ten teams are going to have to take notice.
