Wisconsin Badgers head coach Luke Fickell has made it very clear where he thought the weak part of the defense was in 2023. Already, the program has landed a couple of linebackers from the transfer portal and another one has just committed. Former Arkansas Razorbacks linebacker Jaheim Thomas has committed to the Badgers.

Wisconsin Badgers Land LB Jaheim Thomas
Thomas was the leading tackler for the Razorbacks in 2023. He racked up 90 tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks. He joins Sebastian Cheeks and Jahsiah Galvan in this year’s transfer portal class. All three of those players are linebackers. Wisconsin had a rocky year in Luke Fickell’s first year. The team came in with a lot of hype but was never able to find consistency on the field. Now that Fickell and his staff have been there a year, the hope is that Wisconsin can get back to their winning ways.
2024 Outlook
The Badgers have a huge non-conference matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide early in the season. That game is at home which helps but that will give us a first look into how much this team has improved. That game is followed by a matchup against USC. After that, the schedule calms down a little though Oregon, Penn State, and a much-improved Nebraska team will be tough games. Wisconsin simply needs to show that they can compete in one of the premier conferences in the nation.
The Wisconsin Badgers have the talent. Now they need to be able to put that talent together and get a winning product on the field.
